Like many of you, I depend on the morning news shows to prepare me for the day - they are very good at predicting the weather (on odd numbered days) and catching me up on the world news, but telling me how to shop on a budget? They leave a lot to be desired!
Last week a news program aired a segment on budget shopping for fashion conscious students. They made all kinds of promises...cheap, phat outfits guaranteed to get you an 'A' for fashion. Well, the fashion may get you an 'A', but in the budget category, I would have to say they earned an 'F.'
The evidence: A single outfit with the price tag of $154!
Blouse $32 - Sweater $58 - Skirt $15 - Shoes $49. Who are they dressing, Paris Hilton?
Seriously? I had six children to dress for school. They all needed more than one outfit. The program just spent an entire clothing budget on one outfit and at that rate, all of my children are going to school with holes in their underwear!
Am I missing something here? I had to investigate! Out to the stores I went and on Monday, I'll share my findings with you with some tips on getting that new wardrobe on a budget. Really!
